Couldridge History

This project started in 1995 and has been ongoing ever since. We have made contact with allot of Couldridge's around the world. We have connected with several and unfortunately lost some wonderful Couldridge's. However we were able to get some very valuable information. There are Couldridge's who have been very generous and provided old photographs, newspaper clippings and stories that have added depth to the wonderful story of the Couldridge name.

Records date back to the early 1600's when the Couldridge's were based in England. In the early to mid 1800's several left and settled in South Africa and Canada. In 1900 they then settled in Australia and New Zealand.

Back in 1997 we sent out a letter to all the Couldridge addresses we could find around the world and the response was unbelievable. We received a great amount of information. the letter was followed up by a newsletter called Bloodline and again it was received very well.

We feel it is of great importance to continue collecting information and items of family significance before they are lost in time.

Genealogy web sites are great for basic information but the stories and photographs are what we are after.

Any old documents are also something we attempt to recover.

We look forward to a day when we can write the family history book documenting the family's amazing history.
